Leeds Canoe Club Blog. We paddle... lots!
Airewaves used to be Leeds Canoe Club's magazine letting people know what the club was upto. Its quite hard work pulling together a publication letting people know what the club is doing and publishing dates in advance is always hard as things tend to change. Step forth the blog.. Push button publishing for the masses. So here is the idea a few people in the club take it in turns to write up trips and talk about things in the club.

Each year Leeds Canoe Club holds a White Water Race on the Washburn. This year Jeanie was organising the event and did an excellent job. We got up at 5:30 after being up till mid night sorting out equipment and entries of the race. We arrived at the Washburn for 7 with 3 people already waiting for us. Mark arrived with the marque and we dashed down to put the finish line up before the water went on.
On the day we had about 46 entrants to the race. Lots of people from the club attended although I think that Ben may have regretted coming as he spent most of the morning in the river starting boats.
Unfortuneatly I didn't get much further than the bridge as I was sorting out the results. But the boats that I saw were certainly shifting as they went..
John Embry and the others from the WWR exec were very happy with the event and everyone at Leeds Canoe Club. Well done everyone who helped on the day..
